Continuing our series on Sci-Fi, I will be talking about the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a game based in the Star Wars universe, it takes place in the year 3951 BBY. Incase you are confused let me explain, the year system in the Star Wars universe is based off of how many years the event happens in relation to the Battle of Yavin, this battle takes place in A New Hope when the Death Star is destroyed. This game takes place long before even Master Yoda was born. The story starts with you, waking up on the Endar Spire, an Imperial Hammerhead Corvette that is under fire from Sith ships, you are helped along by the last person on the ship.
After several fights you finally meet Carth Onasi, an Empire soldier with a troubled past, you and him escape the Endar Spire in an escape pod. The two of you land on the surface of the planet sized city of Taris, this planet is under Sith control and no one is getting onto or off the planet anytime soon. After you wake up Carth informs you that the Jedi Bastila Shan, who is the Jedi envoy on board the Spire, has been captured and held by the gangs on Taris and that it is your duty to rescue her and get off the planet. After you learn all this you and Carth set off on a long journey to find Bastila.
To avoid spoilers I will not go into any more detail, except for one thing, Taris is not the only planet the game takes place in, you venture to Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, and the Sith home world of Korriban. This game is the best RPG I have ever played, the ammount of choices you must make is astonishing, you can choose to follow the path of the light or dark, how you act around people, and many more things. The game has amazing replay ability and is very fun, I am about to start my second play through and i’m looking forward to it. Go and buy this game asap because it’s only $9.99 you will not regret it.
